Universal's Blu-ray release plans uncovered, details later today by Richard Lawler, posted Apr 17th 2008 at 4:17AMWe won't have to wait long to find out Universal's plans for Blu-ray, Reuters just noted that later today the studio will announce plans to release about 40 movies on the format in the second half of the year, including Doomsday. The only studio to support solely HD DVD from the beginning will come out with all three of its Mummy films: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and The Scorpion

In the news last month, in case you missed it, was the fact that Jack Kevorkian, retired pathologist and assisted suicide advocate, out of prison on parole, is planning to run for U.S. Congress from the state of Michigan. Kevorkian claims to have helped 130 people die. In the fundamental independent Baptist Church I grew up in, one of the (many) things we knew for sure was that “assisted suicide” was wrong, in every case, all the time, period. Hah! Check this out: History News Network’s poll of 109 historians found that 61 percent of them rank Bush as “worst ever” among U.S. presidents. Bush’s key competition comes from Buchanan, apparently, and a further 2 percent of the sample puts Bush right behind Buchanan as runner-up for “worst ever.” 96 percent of the respondents place the Bush presidency in the bottom tier of American presidencies. It looks as though George Stephanopoulos didn’t come up with those debate questions for Barack Obama about former 60’s radical William Ayers on his own but was coached by none other than Sean Hannity. The day before he co-hosted the Obama/Clinton debate, Stephanopoulos appeared on Hannity’s radio show. Flowers are losing their smell. The discovery could be one of several factors in the "colony collapse disorder" that is wiping out honey bees around the world. Even a brief glance at the titles of the news articles on Wiki reads a bit frighteningly, as do the previous mentions here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
